I’m lecturing to apprentices from BBC Bristol, Icon Films, Bray Leino and other digital media companies in Bristol

It’s satisfying to be working with next generation creative industry talent who are working at leading digital and media companies in Bristol – an important centre of digital excellence.

I deliver the training onsite at places like Icon Films, the BBC and Bray Leino. My teaching includes the Level 4 Diploma in Marketing Communications and is a Higher Level Apprenticeship being delivered by Cirencester College.

Cirencester college was one of the first three providers in the UK to receive Creative Skillset accreditation and is widely respected by media and digital companies in Bristol.

This is a professional work-related qualification giving learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment

A valuable and mutually beneficial bridge between Education and industry has been created and sustained by Cirencester College and Creative Skillset.  This qualification was only available from last year and I was  fortunate to be one of the first to take it into the lecture room.

This is a professional work-related qualification giving learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment, while employers are screaming out for people with the right skills or the ability to learn quickly and “think“.  It also gives career development opportunities for those already in work and are about self-development as much as anything else.

But I think it does something much more – and something that perhaps wasn’t in the planning – that is making sense of the marketing industry through those that are at the heart of it, looking for standards, benchmarks and robust business models and sharing this best practice.
