The Brief
Tickbox were asked to create the marketing foundations for the Into Somerset project, a multi-million pound business investment company co-ordinated by the Somerset Strategic Partnership.
This project was commissioned by Into Somerset in order to inform branding and create a marketing plan to help it raise the profile of Somerset as a business location, to promote inward investment and facilitate indigenous business growth.
Our Work
The key objectives of our work were to update the 2005 Perceptions of Somerset report, identify the characteristics and needs of investors in Somerset, identify target markets for Into Somerset and suggest marketing/branding concepts.
Included in our research were benchmark studies of four other regions, drawing up and analysing a comprehensive survey of 580 businesses and key decision makers, and other academic/desk research.
The Results
Following thorough analysis of all the survey data, together with extensive desk and interview research, we produced an in-depth report on Somerset's offering to the business community, and formulated a detailed branding and marketing plan for the county. We also identified in detail the five main target markets for Into Somerset.
The report is now being used as the basis for the long-term marketing of Somerset as a business destination through the Into Somerset project.
